Itinerary

   Fes – Ifrane – Azrou – Midelt – Erfoud – Merzouga

   Driving Time: Approximately 7 hours 5 minutes Depart Fes in the morning and begin your journey south toward the Sahara. Travel through Ifrane, known for its alpine-style architecture and beautiful mountain scenery, before continuing to the cedar forests around Azrou, where you may spot Barbary macaques among the trees. Continue through the Middle Atlas Mountains to Midelt, where you will stop for lunch. In the afternoon, cross the dramatic landscapes of the Ziz Valley, with its rocky gorges, palm-filled oases, and spectacular desert scenery. Continue through Erfoud toward Merzouga and the golden dunes of Erg Chebbi. In the late afternoon, meet your camel caravan and ride across the dunes while watching the sunset transform the Sahara into shades of gold and rose. Arrive at your Berber desert camp, where you will enjoy a traditional dinner, mint tea, and Berber music around the campfire. Spend the night in a desert tent beneath the spectacular Sahara night sky.

   Desert Nomad Experience – Merzouga & Erg Chebbi

   Wake up early to enjoy the peaceful Sahara sunrise over the Erg Chebbi dunes. After breakfast at the camp, begin your return camel ride toward Merzouga, taking in the changing colors and vast desert scenery. Continue your exploration by 4x4, discovering the hidden landscapes around Erg Chebbi. Visit traditional nomad communities and learn about their way of life in the Sahara. Along the way, discover ancient rock carvings and other traces of the region’s rich history. Stop for a traditional Berber lunch and experience the unique rhythms of Gnaoua music, an important part of Morocco’s desert culture. Later, return to your accommodation and enjoy a relaxed evening with dinner, local entertainment, and a campfire under the desert sky.

   Merzouga – Rissani – Todra Gorges – Boumalne Dades

   Driving Time: Approximately 4 hours 45 minutes After breakfast, leave Merzouga and begin your journey toward the spectacular Todra and Dades valleys. Start with a visit to Rissani, the historic gateway to the Sahara, where you can discover the Mausoleum of Moulay Ali Cherif, founder of the Alaouite dynasty. Continue through the desert landscapes toward Jorf and Tinjdad, passing beautiful palm groves and traditional oasis villages. Continue to Tinghir, where you can explore the old Jewish quarter and discover more about the region's rich cultural heritage. Arrive at the impressive Todra Gorges, where towering limestone cliffs rise dramatically above the river. Enjoy lunch in this spectacular setting before taking some time to walk through the gorge and admire the surrounding landscapes. In the afternoon, continue toward the Dades Valley and Boumalne Dades. Enjoy the scenic mountain roads and dramatic rock formations before settling into a comfortable local hotel. Dinner and overnight in Boumalne Dades.

   Boumalne Dades – Valley of the Roses – Skoura – Ouarzazate – Ait Ben Haddou – Marrakech

   Driving Time: Approximately 5 hours 35 minutes After breakfast, leave Boumalne Dades and travel through the beautiful Valley of the Roses, known for its fragrant rose fields and traditional villages. Continue toward Skoura, a lush oasis surrounded by palm groves and historic kasbahs. Continue to Ouarzazate, the famous Gateway to the Sahara. Stop to visit the renowned film studios and explore the impressive Kasbah of Taourirt, one of the region’s most remarkable historic buildings. Next, travel to Ait Ben Haddou, a spectacular fortified ksar and UNESCO World Heritage Site. Explore its ancient earthen architecture, narrow alleyways, and panoramic views across the surrounding landscape. In the afternoon, begin the final journey to Marrakech, crossing the High Atlas Mountains via the scenic Telouet route.
