Discover the peaceful beauty of the Moroccan Sahara on a 4-day trek through the golden dunes around M’Hamid. Accompanied by local nomadic guides and camel handlers, you’ll travel at a relaxed pace while camels carry your luggage and equipment. Experience the silence of the desert, meet local nomads, enjoy traditional Moroccan meals, and watch spectacular sunsets and sunrises. Nights are spent in traditional bivouacs under the stars, with fresh tea, bread baked in the sand, and the simple rhythm of desert life. Available from mid-September to mid-May, with departures from just 2 people.

Itinerary

1. 1

   Day {{n}}

   Marrakech – Ouled Driss

   Depart early from Marrakech and cross the spectacular Tichka Pass at 2,260 meters before descending into the beautiful Drâa Valley, known for its ancient kasbahs and fortified villages. Continue towards Ouled Driss, where you’ll meet the camel handlers and begin your Sahara adventure. Enjoy dinner and your first night in a traditional desert tent. Approximately 450 km covered.

2. 2

   Ouled Driss – Lahnaniche Dunes

   Begin your trek towards the beautiful Lahnaniche Dunes, crossing a vast desert plateau surrounded by peaceful landscapes. Along the way, discover an ancient kasbah and old houses that reflect the region’s rich history. Enjoy lunch in the shade of tamarisk trees before continuing your trek to the desert camp. After around 5 hours of walking, arrive at the Lahnaniche Dunes for a relaxing evening in the Sahara.

3. 3

   Day {{n}}

   Lahnaniche – Ras Nkhal

   After breakfast, continue your trek through the golden dunes of the Erg, enjoying the peaceful beauty of the Sahara. Stop for a traditional lunch prepared by your cook in the shade of palm trees. In the afternoon, continue towards Ras Nkhal, near M’Hamid and its palm groves, where you’ll set up camp for the night. Relax under a traditional tent or sleep beneath the stars after around 5.5 hours of walking.

4. 4

   Day {{n}}

   Ras Nkhal – Zagora – Ouarzazate – Marrakech

   After breakfast, begin your journey back to Marrakech, with a stop in Tamegroute to discover its traditional pottery and historic Quranic library. Continue through Zagora and Ouarzazate, enjoying the beautiful landscapes of southern Morocco, with a lunch stop along the way. Arrive in Marrakech in the late afternoon, marking the end of your Sahara adventure.
